I bought this tent second hand but excellent condition this year, we have used it this summer. When we arrived we had torrential rain but got it up quickly in about 20 minutes. Inside remained dry.

Sunday we had strong winds 45mph I think it held up well I used extra tarp clips on the porch after reading that was the weak spot in high wind and it was great.

Over all very happy with this tent can just fit 8 sat around the table in middle which is great too.

We have just bought this tent online pre-loved as they say and we love it already. We up graded from a smaller tent as we tend to go camping more with friends and it is brilliant for several adults We bought the addition of the canopy separately and found it really useful when the weather was a bit rainy. Can't really fault it strong didn't leak roomy easy to put up generally totally happy with it and can't think of a fault. Made up year of tent manufacture because we bought second hand

We changed from a huge & very heavy 8 man tent to this tent. We still have plenty of space & have the canopy, which is a great addition for cooking stuff. This tent is easy to put up & pack away, while still giving us enough room to enjoy our time away. No regrets in 'downsizing' as we can fit the tent, equipment, dog & kids in, using the car and roofbox, without needing a trailer for for short stays. Haven't camped in wind/rain but the poles compared to some similar sized tents seem far sturdier. Mesh on doors allows the air to flow through nicely. We have just camped during the heatwave & were comfortable temperature wise at night.

Having owned an Outwell Montana 6 we sold all camping gear and bought a caravan but after 4 years decided we actually preferred camping so sold caravan and then spent weeks looking for that perfect tent knowing what we wanted but every-one we looked at didn't have everything on our wish list like, sewn in ground sheet, bedrooms either end, large living area etc so thought we were going to have to compromise then came across the Pendine 8 which had it all.Have just been away for a week in torrential rain, gale force winds and then sunshine we experienced all weathers ( except snow!) and the tent was brilliant we also purchased the canopy which again was fantastic and made an excellent kitchen area.We are very pleased with it .Easy to put up and pack away can't wait to use it again.

We have recently purchased a Kampa Pendine 8 from Camperite Leisure near Colchester.

We are a family of 4 and this is our first tent as we have just decided to take up camping as we wanted to try a different type of holiday that was not too expensive and would be enjoyable for the whole family.

We didn't really know what we were looking for in a tent, but worked on the principle that if we bought one and used it we would quickly learn what suited us as a family. Camperite were offering the Pendine 8 including footprint, carpet and canopy at a great price so we decided to give it a go.

We are delighted with the tent. It gives us plenty of space, went up easily (about an hour from car boot to sitting with a beer in hand first time and getting quicker!)

We haven't had any bad weather yet but the build quality seems ok so I am sure it will be fine.

Overall the Pendine 8 gives us exactly what we need and we are delighted with our choice

Took our pendine 8 out for its first outing at the weekend just for a couple of nights just to see how our toddler got on with camping and was impressed, we have read the above reviews and its seems the only faults that people have found is 'A' undoing the straps before putting the pods in and pegging the main tent down and 'B' water collecting in the knuckle joints between the main upright and roof poles.

As soon as the tent was out of the bag we loosened all the straps and sure enough when packing the tent away almost dry there was water in the knuckle joins but with the aid of a battery drill and a 3mm drill bit there will be no more water collecting in those knuckle joints anymore!

We experienced beautiful weather the first day and monsoons the next so it was a great test for the tent and it performed brilliantly, yes you do have to step into the tent as the door is about 10 inches off the ground yes we tripped on it a couple of times but I would rather have that than water running in the door.

Very easy to put up, very sturdy in strong winds, nice colour with fluorescent yellow guy lines, all in all a superb tent, cant recommend it enough, we used to own a Karsten and prefer the pendine.What does that tell you?

Excellent value for money with plenty of space for all the family.

Will sleep 8 easily with a double bed in each compartment

If you go for a short weekeed away with friends you can drop down 2 of the bedrooms and gain a lot of extra living space.

After buying and then selling tents we found unsuitable for us (I'm fussy), we have finally settled on Pendine 8, enough room for 3 Adults and 2 teenagers, or 2 Adults 3 teenagers depends on who accompanies us,

Easy to erect with 2 people although OH did manage by himself in garden, 4 rooms each easy take double airbed, we used one room for clothes storage etc, large windows on each side let in plenty of light and roof darker above bedrooms help with the lie ins, we also purchased the canopy and we added an extra guyline to each corner (elbow joint) for extra stability when a bit windy, used the canopy for kitchen and shoes, bikes etc.

The step in/out is slightly high as previously stated in other reviews but you get used to it.

Large living area with plenty of room for table and six chairs comfortably.

Very happy with this tent and looking forward to a good few years of camping with her.

We had some heavy rain and the no leaks, only negative being the rain water caught in the elbow joints so after drying out tent to pack away, we found when we dismantled the excess water ran along the tent, nothing a micro fibre cloth couldn't wipe away.

Would recommend this tent without hesitation

This is the second tent we have owned, after reviewing a lot of 8 man tents we decided on the Kampa and we are so pleased. Done a three night camping trip and can honestly say we are not disappointed in anything with the tent. We had the three kids in the bedroom with the divider up and we had the third bedroom which fitted us both in no problems. We left the last bedroom out which gave us loads of room for all our belongings. I would say the best thing about this tent is the standing room throughout, it just gave you the feeling of space. We also bought a carpet and what a difference, it just makes the tent feel cosier and comfier. Overall we are really happy with our purchase and are now going to look for a porch and matching windbreaker. Can't wait to go camping again in our tent.

Got this tent for our first family camping holiday (although I have been many times before) and took it to Trevornick Holiday Park in Cornwall for a week in late August.

Our local dealer, BestBuys in Wellingborough, had this tent and the Vango equivalent. On viewing its immediately obvious that the Pendine is a higher quality tent and appears to have had more thought put into the design. My wife was sold immediately but I wasn't so I dragged the family round all the local(ish) camping shops and checked out every tent of this type on the market (ALL of them honest!) but we ended up back at the Pendine with the words 'told you so' ringing in my ears. As others have done we got the canopy, carpet and footprint too and negotiated a little discount in the mix.

We put the tent up, a couple of times, in the garden so we could figure it out before going onsite. We also found the guy ropes popping through the fastners but its not a big problem to resolve. Other than that we managed to break a couple of the plastic connectors that connect the side poles to the roof poles but this was because we didn't undo the straps properly - they come half way done up so undo them fully before you put it up/take it down!

Anyway, BestBuys, got replacement parts and the repair was simple.

Our first camping trip was an experience! Firstly, Trevornick is a fantastic site and deserves a plug. We had a pitch at the top of the valley which was a fairly windy spot. We also had every weather type you can imagine, heavy rain, high winds and gorgeous sunshine. The Pendine survived it, many of our neighbours tents didn't.

We learned the following.

We took the canopy down because of wind noise, the instructions do say its not suited to high winds so fair enough.

The wire pegs provided are useless in high winds when the ground it wet as they turn to allow the elastics or guy ropes to pop off. This is also warned about in the instructions (why not simply ship the tent with the flat pegs is my view!) We bought some of the traditional 'flat' pegs and didn't lose another connection.

We also suffered from a couple of leaks where the seams join the fasteners that hold the doors open and the internal pole holders. I sound like a broken record but the instructions do say that this can happen although every care has been taken blah blah blah. (Bit of a get out of jail free card the instructions!) Anyway, the sleeping comparments were never compromised and the water stayed under the carpet so a quick mop up and all was back to normal. I must stress that we did have terrible heavy and persistent rain for about 24 hours straight. All our neighbours had also experienced leaks. The instructions (again!) recommend a seam sealant so I guess I'll be ordering some!

Space wise, in the living space we had a table and four chairs, a kitchen stand and a cool box etc etc but still had enough room to manoeuvre. The canopy would have given us acres as would better weather!

The door sills are high and we all had the odd stumble going in and out - particularly my 2 year old. The alternative would have probably meant a lot more water in the tent! Our dealer did point this out as my kids tripped into the display tent before we bought it but he said they would soon learn!

I cannot recommend this tent highly enough although I only gave it 9/10 this is because we're planning a longer trip to France next year. I want to see how we get on with it for more than 7 nights and if it performs well in a (hopefully, fingers crossed, touch wood) nicer climate. I'll come back and correct the score after that.

A large eight berth tent offering extremely versatile bedroom accommodation and useable living space. Unlike some other similar tents, the Pendine 8 has a hybrid steel and fibreglass frame. The steel legs ensure that the Pendine has upright walls maximising use of the interior floor area and making the Pendine a very stable tent. Inside, the Pendine has a very flexible bedroom arrangement – a four berth bedroom that can be divided using the zipped curtain – and two 2 berth inner tents. Any one of these inner tents can be left out to provide extra living space, or the two 2 berth inner tents can be used opposite each other. The front wall of the four berth inner tent has built in organiser pockets. The large living room has two large windows and can be accessed through two doors, both of which have a secondary mesh door and one of which has a protective canopy above. The whole tent has a sewn in groundsheet which together with the Weathershield 4000mm flysheet keeps the weather out. An optional sun canopy is available.
